East Project Podcast... Psalms!

It's time for the final East Project Podcast of 2015 and it's a real banger!!  Introducing EP PODCAST027 mixed by Psalms...

ENJOY!!

Please introduce yourself?

I'm just your average house music lover, I like everything from tropical pool side tunes to deep and dark club bangers. A recent identity crisis and the eagerness to push the boundaries when it comes to making music has lead to the creation of Psalms. I'm just trying to do things I like and then if people like them too then that's a bonus. The rest is a mystery…

Describe this mix in 5 words?

Fun, free flowing, dirty and bass heavy.

Your highlight of 2015?

The highlight for me this year is probably how quickly my tunes gained support from big names. It's always hard starting out and straight away some of my remixes were picked up by big names in the bass house game! It always brings a smile to your face when you're listening to a podcast from one of your favourite DJs and your tunes are in there. This definitely helped getting my tunes on the labels I wanted to set up an even bigger 2016.

Who should we look out for in 2016?

219 Boys, Landis LaPace and L.A Cruz. All 3 artists have provided that they're going to be worth keep an eye on next year, especially Landis LaPace. Every record he puts out is absolute fire and he's landing some releases on killer labels!

What's your favourite Christmas song?

I've never been a huge fan of Christmas songs, I blame this on working jobs that had them blasting from early October. But if you put on a Mariah Carey Christmas album I'll be right there trying to hit those hit notes with her.

East Project Podcast... Fugere!!

In our humble opinion the East Project Podcast series has had a decent year in 2015 and we are rounding things off nicely in December with another top class mix from South America...  A new partnership between Klle Dawid and Dogreen, this mix should get your Christmas off to a banger!

Enjoy!!

How are you guys doing?  Tell us how 2015 went and what were your highlights?

Our year was very satisfactory… We have evolved a lot in our productions and mixing, although we don’t have many highlights, but our project recently had some great achievements… We’ve played in several states in Brazil, something that even for our solo projects is a little hard, so it motivates us a lot. We have also had releases on several labels such as Muzenga, Monotonik, Bambole and who could forget what we put aside for you… What we’ve launched on East Project has ended up having our best result on Beatport!

So how did the Fugere project start?

From the beginning of our solo projects we were already making music together, and this partnership was growing stronger every day, eventually becoming like a brotherhood.
A while ago some friends put the thought into in our heads "you guys have to create a project together", so we talked and decided to release together.  Before it began, the hardest part was to create an identifiable name, so we lingered for about 2 months and finally came up with “Fugere”.

Describe your sound?

It’s very hard to describe our sound, as we always try to do something different…  We just take all our influences and gather ideas, ranging from the 808 Bass to Tech House.

Do you prefer producing or DJing?

We like to do everything together, each of us have different qualities which end up being good for Fugere because one complements the failure of the other, especially when we are playing.

What are your plans for 2016?

In 2016 we will start the way we always like to - party!
We'll have a lot of work, we have several new collabs and major releases that we are finalizing.
We promise to have a great year with plenty of new features!

East Project Podcast... Alfred Diaz!!

The 25th episode of the East Project podcast has finally landed and it comes form our good friends, Alfred Diaz!

Enjoy...

What are you doing right now?

I am currently working on new projects to be launched by different record labels early next year, but I have to say it has been a year in which I have also signed with several national and international labels like Drop Low, Soleid, Machete Red and recently with East Project.

Tell us what the music industry is like in the Canary Islands and what we should be looking out for?

Despite its small size, the islands have quite an impact where electronic music production is concerned, due to the large amount of talented producers. In recent years there have been several festivals that have had the participation of national and international artists. On the other hand, it has lost its club scene especially in Tenerife, due to the closure of several local iconic clubs from the electronic music.

What has been your favourite release so far?

Honestly I liked them all, but if I have to choose would be "Wanna Play a Game" because for me (House Of Hustle) is one of the most powerful labels with which I signed so far.

If you could choose any producer in the world to remix, who would it be and why?

Kolombo, Sirus Hood, Sharam Jey, Shiba San are great artists and I identify with what I have been producing so far.

What is your guilty pleasure song and why?

My guilty pleasure track is "Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam" this track marked part of my past and now the future...

East Project Podcast... Antony Toga!!

Due to their popularity, we are stepping things up with our Podcast series and will be bringing you more regular mixes from our family of EP friends and future heroes...

This time around we have the excellent Antony Toga from France, who's released on CUFF, Defected/Strickly Rhythm, Sleazy G, House Of Hustle and many more...

Enjoy!!

Tell us how your 2015 has gone and what have been your highlights?

This year happened so fast ... many huge meetings and projects!

If I have to remember just two moments, I think I would keep my remix for Mr.V, Louie Vega (Master At Work) and SanXero released on Strictly Rhythm (and recently released on Defected Records with 'Ibiza Closing Party')!

The second moment was my meetings with fellas with great human qualities, like Andy Daniell (Defected), Bruno (Pachangastorm) and all the BlueDYE family, Tony (TheeCoolCats), Jan Essig (FromDropTillDawn), my Paulo Chantraine and all the HOH crew… to name but a few!

What are you up to at the moment?

I'm very busy, right now … Remixes, EP!  2016 will be rich in events and projects with House Of Hustle, BlueDYE, East Project, Blacksoul Rec, Voyeur Music and maybe CUFF and Defected… Can't wait to see how this year will unfold!

If you could pick one track to remix who’s would it be and why?

In fact, the track that I would pick to remix ... I just did it, three weeks ago!  It's River Ocean feat. India 'Love & Happiness', produced by Little Louie Vega!

Why this one?  'cause it's a classic track and one of my first vinyls!  Hope it will be released one day... So, keep your fingers crossed for me!

Top 3 tracks of 2015?

FromDropTillDawn 'Bass Kick' [CUFF]
Thee Cool Cats & Jamie K 'One Time' [ToolRoom]
Liu Bei 'Atlas World' (Solomun remix) [2DIY4]

What is your guilty pleasure track?

Ahaha!  Seriously… you really want to know?  Ok, I think it could be Limalh 'Never Ending Story'… It reminds me of my childhood! Cheesy enough… but produced by the Great Giorgio Moroder, so Respect! :)

TRACKLISTING:
Intro Todd Terry 'The Preacher'

Interview:

What are you up to at the moment?

Right now I'm very focused on my career, both in production as well as my touring schedule. This year was fucking awesome, many things have changed for the better and I'm working hard to keep it that way.

Who would be your dream remixer and why?

Shiba San! I follow his work long before I started producing. I get inspired by him a lot and I admire the quality of his sound. He is a well-known and world-renowned artist, it would be an honour to have a sound my remixed by him! I believe that this will also happen soon...

Describe your sound in 5 words?
Gangsta, Sensual, Aggressive, Innovative, Danceable
I think those words together and define my current sound.
What have been your highlights of 2015?
As I said, this year has been very cool!
Some of my best achievements was signing with major labels like Sleazy G, Beach Side, East Project, Prison Entertainment, among others... And also receiving supports from many renowned names. I think this certainly makes us want more and work better.
All this has helped me to perform in several different places. I hope 2016 is as good as 2015 has been!
Tell us what is your current favourite track?
All haha... I love all my tracks, but if I were to choose one it would choose BITCHES. It has not yet been released, but soon by Brazilian label MAZE.
I play it in all my sets and the audience response is always positive.

(Thanks guys, I send a hug to everyone, it was a great honour to have a little chat with you)

EP FREE... Gino Christiano x Lucy Pearl - Don't Mess With My Man (Remix)

We're now onto our 5th release on the EP FREE series and this time we have this excellent little remix edit from Gino Christiano...

Enjoy!!

Hi Gino, let’s start by introducing yourself?

I'm Gino Christiano, 28 yrs old. Born & raised in Amsterdam. I've been playing music since I was 15, and started throwing parties soon after and I've never stopped since! Both hobbies got out of hand, I've been a professional party  planner since I was 18 and later my DJ career grew way more important from 5 years ago.

Last 3 years I've focused on learning on how to produce music and develop my own unique sound. Now I have two DJ aliases and I organize at least 3 parties a month.

Under Gino Christiano, I've just released my second official single " Go Deejay" , deep but middle tempo grooving track with a hip hop sample. Most of my inspiration comes from old hip hop , R&B which I used to play and grew up with.

Tell us what you are up to at the moment?

A thousand things at the same time like I always do... But working hard in the studio to get my new sound out! I used to play more hip hop & RnB and now my sound is predominantly house, so I try to tell my story with my new releases and bootlegs. I've made some new original tracks which are completely in between styles, so would be cool if I got the chance to show that to the world on a big scale!

Besides that, I'm going a little back to my roots by doing a vinyl only evening monthly in club Jimmy Woo in Amsterdam. I think it's time to show the difference between real DJs who also produce and the producers who are more products and don't really know how to play a proper set for their audience.

If you had to describe your sound in 5 words?

In no specific order: eclectic electronic uptempo garage house

You are part of the Mother Music crew, tell us how you got involved with that?

As DJing became more important to me, I missed a platform for serious talent. Together with Hitmeister D I've started "De Nachtbrakers" (literally translated as the nightcrawlers). As a group we grew and helped each other and hosted some serious stages. A lot of talent came from there like GirlsLoveDj's. It was the base and talent pool of what Mother Music now is. A talent starts in de Nachtbrakers and end up in Mother music agency and is ready for the big work. So I was also at the base of Mother Music itself. But after a while the music side just dragged me into it and I love being an Artist instead of sitting at my desk!

Your guilty pleasure track?

Because of a classics party i've organised for 10 years now, I know a lot of guilty pleasures.... too many! If i had to pick the worst one: Gigi d'agostini - l'amour toujours

Introducing Deniz Alpay... Hitmeister D.

Alongside Tremonde and the vocal talents of Sean Declase, HITMEISTER D has produced what we believe will be one of the big summer hits on a variety of dance floors across the world!

Hitmeister D, Tremonde Feat Sean Declase - "Rest Of You"

Summertime vocal business!!!  Enjoy...

Please introduce yourself?

My name is Deniz Alpay aka Hitmeister D.

I've been spinning records since 1999 and started out experimenting mixing various styles such as Disco, 80s electronics, Pop and House oriented styles eventually evolving in what we call 'Eclectic' in the Netherlands since 2003.

I played numerous clubs and festivals all over the world and used to do a lot of fashion shows such as Karl Lagerfeld, Diesel, Tommy Hilfiger and much more.

For the last 4 years I've been focusing on developing young talent and giving them the possibility to become what I call a 'responsible' artist and doing a lot of consultancy jobs for Nightlife, such as clubs, hotels and bars. In the meantime I do gigs, spend some time in the studio and of course with my 2 sons.. :)

This combination works perfectly for me. I produce whenever I feel like it, do some gigs whenever I feel too and am constantly connected with all developments in my area of passion… NIGHT.

Describe your release on East Project (EP006) in 5 words?

Warm, Loving, Sexy, Summer... did I mention Sexy?

Tells us something about yourself that nobody else will know...

I am actually very fking Gay, which probably explains my incredible passion for Disco shit...

Introducing Sean Declase... The voice from "Rest of You" on EP006!!

For the launch of East Project Friends - Vol 2 Part 1, we thought we would catch up with some of the artists featured on the release and chuck at them 3 quick fire questions, so you could begin to get into the minds of these talented individuals...

Quickest to respond was our man from down under, the vocally talented SEAN DECLASE, who features on "Rest of You"...  Check it!!

Please introduce yourself?

My name is Sean Declase from Melbourne, Australia. Vocalist & Songwriter for Music All Stars Publishing.

Lover of music that brings the goosebumps or breaks your neck!

Describe your release in 5 words?

I immediately fell in love with this beat when Hitmeister D and Tremonde sent it over. I just pumped the volume and danced around to it on repeat and let the melody and lyrics flow.

I had the idea for the chorus “Rest Of You” locked down but I also wanted to add a full adlib track cause I was digging it so much. The boys took the adlibs, cut them up and created something funky!

When I hear this I vision: Slurpees, Summertime and Fluro Colours!

3 - Tells us something about yourself that nobody else will know…

Something about me that nobody else may know is when I was 17 my Mum sent me to live with my Uncle and Aunty after I had some trouble in the home town where I was born and raised.

I remember pulling up in a cab and meeting my cousins Carlton and Hilary at the door, I spent the next 6 years living at their house. I still get postcards from my Aunt Viv sometimes.
